The design concept starts from the identification of a circumnavigable central volume that incorporates the two pillars and becomes the characterising element of the flat, containing several functions within it and determining a space for the sleeping area.

A volume covered in chocolate oak slats, in fact, from the outside it is partly openable with storage doors, partly hollowed out with open shelves, partly grilled to accommodate the heating elements, and in addition to this it accommodates the box for the 3 sliding glass door panels that divide the living room from the kitchen, and finally, along its perimeter the volume conceals 2 doors that allow access to its interior.

Inside the volume, the guest bathroom and a cupboard dedicated both as a storage space and as a closet with part of the technical elements for system control of the house are inserted. The same language is echoed in other handcrafted elements that characterise the space, albeit with other materials. For example, the kitchen wall consists of a Malè white lacquered wood volume which is emptied at the island by the insertion of black elements, just as happens in the central volume.

The warm tones of chocolate oak, Billiemi marble and beige resin in contrast to the purity of white accentuate the building’s own natural brightness, while at the same time making it cosy.
