The design idea was born from an in-depth study of the context, shaped by natural forces, a complex of sandy dunes molded by the impetuous action of the winds and the sea. As in Arabic the word wind is called ruh, which also translates to breath creator, the force of the dominant air currents and water become the Genius Loci creator of the design process. The project is in fact made up of a plastic volume eroded by the action of the dominant forces. The dynamism of their effect is simulated on the external finish in local sandstone, chosen according to the characteristics of durability and resistance, as in the Darwinian selection, according to which organisms that know how to adapt to the context survive. The villa, closed on the southern front to counteract the arid climatic conditions prevailing with a shell that acts as a shade, opens completely towards the sea with the aim of contemplating a domestic dimension, far from the frenzy of life in Dubai, silent, in which nature and architecture coexist synergistically allowing you to capture the smell of salt and the peaceful noise of the sea, giving sensations and vital perceptions to enjoy. The project, which develops on a grid woven from the directions of the main forces of wind and sea, is an example of bioclimatic architecture. It consists of 3 floors, one of which is underground, whose internal microclimate is controlled by passive design strategies that maximize the efficiency of thermal exchanges between the building and the external environment. The external ventilation, through the evaporation process of the pool water, is cooled and distributed inside through the central block of the building; in addition, thanks to the technology of the casing and vegetation, the building is isolated from solar radiation that does not enter in a direct but widespread.
