A great design quality is able to respect the general balance and identity of the landscape in the area concerned, enhancing the overall image.
It should not be answered with slavish repetitions of already established typologies and forms, but with the creation of building interventions which, while deviating from already present characteristics, are nonetheless coherent and appropriate to the context.
The project interprets the dual character of the border strip between the Mediterranean sea and the land, also through the joint use of different technical-constructive elements of the architectural composition, the main ones being: green roof, stone walls, white entablatures, glass to close the spaces that are generated in the composition of the different elements.
What is surprising is that planimetrically and almost without intending it, the project results in the harmonious positioning of two highly technological rectangular plates on the lawn, almost without touching it.
The use of the wall as a container of spaces, its expansion and the green roof determine the translation of the evidence of the stone wall towards the south, effectively concealing the service volumes. The technological plates, if on the one hand they are the classic entablature, on the other they highlight the relationship between tradition and modernity.
On the one hand, the "light" roofs will produce clean energy, on the other they will protect the interior spaces from radiation and overheating, while the construction against the ground (antithetical and complementary) will naturally insulate the building through the ventilated cavity, as will be guaranteed insulation with green roofing.
It is emphasized that the achievement of any result of a purely technological nature, therefore also linked to regulatory obligations, is perfectly integrated in the design development which is the identity of the landscape investigated with the design complexity.
In this interpretation, the southern front is completely projected towards the sea, a coastal and Mediterranean landscape, relating in some way with many of the buildings present in Corso Europa, while the northern, tectonic, portion relates with the context, the need to minimize minimum the limit between inside and outside, a distinctive trait of contemporary architecture, is a further element of design complexity, from which the final formalization of the composition originates.

Una grande qualità progettuale è in grado di rispettare l’equilibrio generale e l’identità del paesaggio nell’ambito interessato, valorizzandone l’immagine complessiva.
Ad essa non si dovrebbe rispondere con pedisseque ripetizioni di tipologie e forme già insediate, ma con la realizzazione di interventi edilizi che, pur discostandosi da caratteri già presenti, risultino comunque coerenti e adeguati al contesto.
Il progetto interpreta il carattere duale della fascia di confine tra mare mediterraneo e terra, anche attraverso l’utilizzo congiunto di diversi elementi tecnico-costruttivi della composizione architettonica, i principali sono: copertura verde, murature in pietra, trabeazioni bianche, vetri a chiudere gli spazi che si generano nella composizione dei diversi elementi.
Quello che stupisce è che planimetricamente e quasi senza volerlo il progetto si risolve nel posizionare armonicamente due piastre rettangolari, altamente tecnologiche, sul prato, quasi senza toccarlo.
L’utilizzo del muro come contenitore di spazi, la sua dilatazione e la copertura verde determinano la traslazione dell’evidenza del muro in pietra verso sud, di fatto celando i volumi di servizio. Le piastre tecnologiche se da un lato sono la trabeazione classica, dall’altro evidenziano il rapporto tra tradizione e contemporaneità.
Le coperture “leggere” da un lato produrranno energia pulita, dall’altro proteggeranno dall’irraggiamento e surriscaldamento gli spazi interni, questo mentre la costruzione controterra (antitetica e complementare) isolerà naturalmente l’edificio tramite l’intercapedine areata, così come sarà garantito isolamento con la copertura verde.
Si sottolinea come l’ottenimento di ogni risultato di carattere puramente tecnologico, legato quindi anche ad obblighi normativi, sia perfettamente integrato nello sviluppo progettuale che è identitario del paesaggio indagato con la complessità progettuale.
In questa interpretazione il fronte sud è del tutto proiettato verso il mare, paesaggio costiero e mediterraneo, relazionandosi in qualche modo con molte delle costruzioni presenti in Corso Europa, mentre la porzione nord, tettonica, si rapporta con il contesto, la necessità di ridurre al minimo il limite tra interno ed esterno, tratto distintivo dell’architettura contemporanea, si pone come ulteriore elemento di complessità progettuale, da cui origina la formalizzazione finale della composizione
