The residential building - demolition and reconstruction - is carefully embedded on the very exposed ridge of the Girlan hill. Towards the main access road it appears closed, the facade openings are aligned with the essential local references - the two historically existing courtyards and the Rittner Horn. The slope side opens surprisingly, connects the exterior and interior and creates grandiose views to the Mendel/Penegal as well as the Texelgruppe. The rough outer skin of the building, made of bush-hammered exposed concrete, was realized with locally quarried material, just like the traditional Überetscher Ansitze. It suggests a contemporary elegance without contrasting with the exposed location. The interiors were executed bright, expression of lightness and freshness, analogous to a broken fruit, rough outside and fine inside.
