Gelateria & cafe Wakayama / 2021
Both the shopfront and interior were designed to express the simplicity, transparency and craftsmanship of Con Panna’s approach - all their gelato is made in the kitchen on site, visible to customers - using natural, organic ingredients. This was Con Panna’s first gelateria, and we worked with them to develop a unified interior / exterior design and branding concept.
The floor was stripped to the original bare concrete. Cypress timber - native to central Japan - was used throughout, in combination with reclaimed wood used in the construction of furniture. All materials and finishes were chosen with an eye to sustainability and carbon footprint.
