As one of the largest headwear manufacturers in the world, Unimas has been in the business since 1993. Operating from their headquarter in Hongkok, the brand supply essentially in the US market. Supply mostly to the US market. About 10 years ago, they moved to Bangladesh to start their second production plant. The final phase of their production plant in Bangladesh was completed in 2019. It was then that they realized that they needed a showroom to display their products. Since they couldn’t be there in person to put the showroom together, they commissioned Zero Inch Interiors to manage and execute the project.

The idea of the showroom was to turn it into somewhat of a departmental store to showcase a wide array of products that the brand manufactures. The main objective was to skillfully manage the segmentation of the products according to their category. Since the products themselves were small in size, the team needed to get creative with the display units in a way that highlighted the products to grab the visitors’ attention. There are sections for sports collection, outdoor collection, and urban lifestyle collection.  “We worked with a range of material palette in the showroom but tried to give it a cohesive look by sticking with a basic colour scheme. Our attempt was to make the visitors’ experience memorable and impactful”, says Interior Architect Ariful Islam.  One interesting aspect of the showroom is its display solution, the modular display units can be changed overnight, completely transforming the outlook of the showroom upon its requirement. This helps to keep things interesting and gives numerous scopes of creative visual merchandising.

The project had to run during the trying times of Covid and lockdown yet the team managed to pull it off on time and under budget. “Diving into this project remotely, we had to put a lot of trust in Zero Inch Interiors Ltd. We couldn’t be happier with the result. The craftsmanship was on point, it was meticulously detailed. Despite the unavailability of many resources during the Covid times, the design team brought innovative solutions to tackle the issues creatively”, shares Andrew Naga, Director, Mainland Headwear Holdings Ltd.
