BS APARTMENT (90m2)

DESCRIPTION OF A 90m2 APARTMENT IN CHRISTOY KOPSIDA 24 STREET.

• About 1 year ago we had the opportunity to build and decorate a 90m2 apartment in the city of Xanthi.

• The apartment is located on the 2nd floor and consists of a living room-dining room-kitchen in contact with each other, two bedrooms, a w.c. and a bathroom.

• Our main goal was to maintain an emotional balance,  which was achieved thanks to the bold changes of materials in each space and the conscious absence of purely innovative objects and elements.

• We wanted to design the apartment in a way that would make it look and feel like an apartment from 15 years ago but with great details and references to today’s era.

• The elements which we laid special emphasis on were the whole functionality of the spaces, the simplicity of the constructions, the artworks created by the owner and the support of the design on a large scale.

• The open-plan space, which comprises the living room, the dining room and the kitchen, is completely separated from the rest quiet areas of the apartment. A metal sliding door allows the kitchen to be separated from the rest of the rooms.

• The master bedroom has a dressing room which is separated from the rest of the room with a velvet curtain, and a w.c, with a special design in its floor plan. Tile with a mosaic style in two shades prevails in the bathroom, with corian material on the large sink and wooden storage spaces to complete the picture. In the children's room, we chose soft colors that create the right atmosphere for calm and rest.

• The main material chosen for the floor is a wooden-style tile laid in a herringbone pattern to give the classic texture not only to the open-plan space but also to the bathroom and children's room. Pure white marble was used both in the kitchen and in the master bedroom in order to give a simple but updated identity to the apartment.

• The coexistence of marble and wood, large plaster panels with color changes in the wall covering in the open-plan space, metal structures, large mirrors, special decorative elements and works of art compose the image of the apartment. The combination of all these contrasting elements contributes to a very interesting, different residence that has managed to convey the special character of 'warm materiality' with the appropriate hint of discretion but also fierceness where it is necessary...
