This apartment located in the Chamberi neighborhood of Madrid was completely demolished, maintai- ning only the original structure of concrete pillars. To bring order to the area where the structure was more misaligned, we resorted to a central module that contained all the air conditioning and heating ins- tallations as well as the vertical elements of the structure. This wooden module, understood as a piece of furniture, would in turn serve to expand the living area by housing the sofa, to contain and hide the access doors to other spaces, mark a separation between the kitchen and the livingroom and shape the master bathroom ́s sink. As for the materials we have resorted to wood mainly in this module to enhance its volume, also marking its shape in the pavement. Throughout the house it was decided to keep the hydrau- lic tile floor because, although it had to be changed due to its poor condition, due to the type and time of construction it made sense to keep the same type of pavement.

Este apartamento situado en el barrio madrileño de Chamberí fue totalmente demolido, manteniendo solamente la estructura original de pilares de hormigón. Para aportar orden en la zona donde la estructura estaba más desalineada, se recurrió a un módulo central que contuviese todas las instalaciones de climati- zación y calefacción así como los elementos verticales de la estructura. Este módulo de madera, entendido como un mueble, a su vez nos serviría para ampliar la zona de estancia albergando el sofa, contener y ocultar las puertas de acceso a otros espacios, marcar una separación entre la cocina y la sala de estar - comedor y conformar el lavabo del baño principal. En cuanto a los materiales, se ha recurrido a la madera principalmente en este módulo para darle potencia, marcándose también el volumen en el pavimento. En toda la vivienda se decidió renovar el suelo de azulejo hidraúlico pues, aunque hubo que cambiarlo debido al mal estado, se consideró que por el tipo y época de la construcción tenía sentido mantener el mismo tipo de pavimento.
