ibis Styles Hotel | STUDIO SHOO
2022
Developing the design of the Ibis Styles Kogalym hotel, STUDIO SHOO drew inspiration from the northern nature, enchanted forests, and extraordinary natural phenomena.
The interior prominently features rich and intricate forest green, reminiscent of the hues found in fir trees. Natural wetland forms are complemented by delicate colours of snow and blue sky adding a soft and serene touch. To contrast the Arctic surroundings, the designers used natural wood, a hearth, and cosy furnishings all around the space.
Ibis Styles’ ground floor houses the reception, a restaurant and a bar area, two multi-use meeting rooms and guest lifts. The bar serves as a multifaceted space, featuring a small amphitheatre, a reception desk, and can be easily transformed into a breakfast buffet area.
The restaurant has been designed with diverse seating arrangements. Guests can choose from round and square tables, a communal table, and comfortable sofa areas. For those seeking more intimacy, a secluded zone can be created using privacy screens.
Meticulously crafted bar shelves serve as decorative art pieces, while cone-shaped lamps and wall decorations in the reception area draw inspiration from the captivating forms of forest swamps, further enhancing the ambiance.
The ceiling is adorned with graphic prints depicting a fairytale woodland, adding a touch of whimsy to the space.
Natural elements are present throughout the hotel: bedside tables in rooms are made from tree trunks with resin, minimalist prints on the walls reminiscent of snow-covered spruces, while swamp motifs act as visual links between the environment and various parts of the hotel.
