The project for the Via Viavio Miniloft moves from the request to modify the existing mezzanine and to improve the service spaces. The most important decision is to free the third window on the facade, initially occupied by the bathroom, making it part of the living space. The project is limited to inverting the bathroom and the kitchen, bringing the kitchen to the façade, and the bathroom to the interior, illuminated by an internal glass window.

The mezzanine has been completely redesigned, proposing a spiral staircase instead of a linear staircase, and aligning it with the tall windows. The internal height of 4.2m led to the use of a structure of only 3cm thick, in steel and wood, which allowed the best liveability on both levels: the upper one with the bed, and the lower one with the walk-in closet. The use of steel and wood has led to the use of color as a homogeneous finishing element, both for the staircase and the parapet and for the mezzanine and the closing of the walk-in closet (this one still waiting for a floral wallpaper, tone on tone, in the belle époque style).

The only door present, that of the bathroom, full-height, painted in the same tone as the mezzanine, constitutes a vertical counterpoint to the horizontality of the mezzanine, with which it communicates. The existing wooden floor has been kept. The bathroom was covered in glossy black diamond tiles, while the glass window between the kitchen and the bathroom was made of ribbed glass.

The tones of the chosen color, light green, and the materials used, black ceramic and ribbed glass, have been identified in a 1930s spirit, an era of which the building, in which the studio is located, represents an eloquent example, not far from the magnificent Villa Necchi di Portaluppi.
