Villa Calaghena | Matteo Fantoni

Calaghena is an area of Montepaone, in the province of Catanzaro, situated along the Ionian coast of Calabria between Copanello and Soverato. The area covered by the Concept Masterplan is located on a hill which slopes down towards the sea (about 4km away), surrounded by the greenery of lush Mediterranean vegetation, which offers an amazing view overlooking the Gulf of Squillace. The area covered by the plan includes a surface area of 21,960 m2, yet of this only 4,825 m2 will be used for the construction of buildings which will compose this luxury holiday "Resort". The building area includes: 1,025 m2 for a villa (800 m2 for the villa with pool, 150 m2 for facilities, 75 m2 for surveillance); 2,000 m2 for villas of 200 m2 each and 1,800 m2 for 90 m2 apartments. The remaining 17,135 m2 is for parks and gardens. The Brief consists of the creation of an exclusive residential "resort" which can be a unique and innovative project aimed at a selected clientele. In the "Resort" the greenery dominates and the car parks are hidden from view or built under ground, all with ecology, privacy and security in mind.
