Reinventing design by exploring traditional Mallorcan architecture with an innovative look at the use of local materials. Finding the right balance between the landscape and the new building by choosing colours that blend in with the materials and textures already present in the surrounding area. Creating spaces that foster relationships and promoting places that awaken the need to inhabit and experience them. The house is located near the village of Cas Concos, to the southeast of the island. The traditional architecture of this inland village maintains a beautiful natural environment and it is just a few kilometres from a coastline full of beaches with stunning turquoise blue waters.

Our initial aim was to connect with the natural elements of Mallorca, from the inner part of the island, along with its origins. Materials in their wildest state and those worked for centuries by generations of Mallorcans. Highlighting their colours, their textures and the way they have been formed. We searched for a colour scheme based on materials in their natural state, to achieve a balance with their environment.

Reinventar la manera de diseñar, indagando en la arquitectura tradicional mallorquina con una mirada innovadora en el uso de materiales locales. Encontrar un equilibrio con el paisaje y una casa de nueva construcción, mimetizando colores con materiales y texturas ya presentes en los alrededores. Crear espacios que propicien las relaciones, potenciando lugares que nos despierten la necesidad de habitarlos y vivirlos. La casa de Can Roig, se ubica cerca del pueblo de Cas Concos, al sureste de la isla, un pueblo de interior y arquitectura tradicional que mantiene un entorno natural envidiable y a escasos kilómetros de una costa plagada de playas azul turquesa.

Nuestro objetivo inicial fue conectar con los elementos naturales de Mallorca, del interior de la isla, con sus orígenes. Materiales desde su estado más salvaje hasta aquellos trabajados durante siglos por generaciones de mallorquines. Poner en valor sus colores, sus texturas y su manera de modelarlos. La búsqueda de una cromática que partiera de los materiales en su estado natural encontrando un equilibrio con su entorno.
