Oficinas GPvivienda | LGZ Taller de arquitectura

The offices of GPvivienda, an important housing developer in northern Mexico, are located in an emblematic rationalist building in Monterrey downtowon: Condominio Acero. GPvivienda is one of the youngest areas in Garza Ponce Group, and the one with the fastest growth rate. The capacity of use in its headquarters, and efficiency in its distribution has been compromised for years.

One of the main changes proposed in the project was democratization of space use. The new organization increased occupancy from 60 to 100 employees, and generated more areas dedicated to collaborative work and relax.

Workspaces were designed with a diverse array of postures  (desk, lounge, stand up) that stimulate an adequate work cycle with phases of focusing, regeneration and activation. Visual limits within working areas were liberated, helping in collaborative work.

Formally, we wanted to reinforce place identity, by making Condominio Acero the protagonist of space. Before the refurbishment, the whole 13th level was divided by drywall office partitions that blocked the free plan and free façade characteristic of modern architecture. The original structure of the building was discovered, as a protagonist of a museographic path that reinforces the main values of Monterrey, Condominio Acero and Garza Ponce: firmness, permanence and tradition.
