The building belongs to the historical village of San Buono, a typical town of Abruzzo’s countryside.

The main idea has been to convert that house into a holiday house for a young couple of London, a space for guests and rest during winter and summertime.

The first approach was to synthesize all the values to conserve and all the inconsistency to eliminate in order to get a clear situation to start with the new addictions.

The first step was to remove all the infill walls and the false ceiling in order to get a bigger space emphasizing the old structure roof and all architectural elements as the fireplace.

The blue colour, which has a particular meaning for the client, has been a guide for the entire design. It becomes part of the exterior facades as well as part of the interior design, by the lighting and some other interior furnishings.

Substantially the interior layout consists of a little entrance and a living room on the mezzanine floor overlooked by the bedroom on the top floor.
