How could someone live near an immense and majestic mountain and not pay homage to it, or nevermind its size and shape? We know that that ground holds energy, mineral strength, mysteries, depths. The Roca House is inspired by the relief of the Curral Range, a symbol of the city of Belo Horizonte, an ancestral witness to our lives. The walls of the house sometimes shut themselves, blind and austere, and sometimes open, incorporating views of the distance. The house invites the morning sun, but also protects itself from the gaze of the surroundings. In its central garden, the remote nature of the big mountain and the intimate nature of the family’s living spaces meet. Below, the technical and service areas are located; above, we can find the intimate spaces; and on the main level we can enjoy its largest dimensions: inside / outside / living / coexisting / leisure / greenery / everything integrated.

Como viver perto de uma montanha imensa e majestosa sem homenageá-la, sem
considerar seu tamanho e sua forma? A gente sabe que aquele chão guarda energia, força
mineral, mistérios, profundidades. A Casa Roca é inspirada no relevo da Serra do Curral:
símbolo da cidade, testemunha ancestral da nossa vida. Suas paredes ora se fecham cegas
e austeras, ora se abrem incorporando as visadas para o longe. A casa convida o sol da
manhã, mas também se protege dos olhares do entorno. No jardim central se encontram
a natureza remota da grande montanha e aquela íntima dos espaços de convivência da
família. Abaixo, as áreas técnicas e de serviço, acima os espaços íntimos e no nível
principal podemos fruir as maiores dimensões: dentro / fora / estar / conviver / lazer /
verde / tudo integrado.
