L’appartamento è situato all’interno di una palazzina degli anni 60, che ha mantenuto inalterata la struttura degli ampli spazi comuni e alcune finiture molto caratterizzanti come le fasce di rivestimento in klinker carta da zucchero sul fronte strada e i marmi che rivestono il corpo scale interno.

L’intervento conferma la struttura originaria dell’appartamento (di circa 55mq), andando a demolire le pareti che creavano il locale d’ingresso per ampliare il più possibile la zona giorno con angolo cottura.

Lo spazio è definito dal grande armadio che funge da trait d’union tra il soggiorno e la camera da letto; a questo elemento è rimandata la funzione di separare gli ambienti tramite due porte scorrevoli integrate, permettendo di mantenere gli ambienti separati senza mai perdere l’unitarietà complessiva.

Coerentemente con lo spirito dell’edificio si è scelto di mantenere i serramenti in legno esistenti ed il pavimento della camera in parquet con posa a spina di pesce, mentre il pavimento della zona giorno e del bagno è stato sostituito da una graniglia di impasto chiaro.

L’arredo, prevalentemente su misura, permette di sfruttare al meglio gli spazi e ottimizzare lo stivaggio; la laccatura bianca è prevalente con l’eccezione di alcuni elementi in multistrato di okumè che risaltano per contrasto con i toni freddi del pavimento in graniglia.

The apartment is located in a building from the 1960s, which has kept the structure of the large common areas unchanged and possesses some very distinctive finishes such as the sugar paper clinker strips on the street frontage and the marble covering the internal stairwell.

The intervention reinforces the original structure of the apartment (about 55sqm), demolishing the walls that created the entrance room to expand the living area with the kitchenette as much as possible.

The space is defined by the large wardrobe that acts as a link between the living room and the bedroom; this element attributes to the function of separating the rooms through two integrated sliding doors, allowing you to keep the rooms separate without ever losing the overall unity.

Consistent with the spirit of the building, it was decided to keep the existing wooden windows and the floor of the room in parquet with a herringbone pattern, while the floor in the living area and in the bathroom was replaced by a light mixture of grit. 

The furniture, mainly made to measure, allows you to make the most of the space and optimize stowage; white lacquering is prevalent with the exception of some elements in okumè plywood that stand out in contrast with the cold tones of the grit floor.
