A sturdy place along the Merwede Canal.

You live at a new harbor and share a new neighbourhood. Different typologies of houses, all with a view of the water, together form a wonderful meeting place.

The architecture of the Wilhelminawerf builds on the rich industrial history of the area. The residential buildings are literally designed in conjunction with the adjacent silos and chimneys. High masonry pillars with beautiful reliefs  form the basis, which is topped off with a light construction of sheet metal panels. The height accents and roof shapes give the buildings a distinct direction.

The urban design saved all existing trees along the Merwede Canal: the trees now have a prominent place in the plan. All rainwater is collected in the small harbour, for retention value and biodiversity.

The catering pavilion on the harbor is centrally located on the Wilhelminawerf. A socially sustainable meeting place for all people from the area. Wilhelminawerf works on all scale levels.
