Collaboration with Tatsuhei Taniguchi (bricklayers).
A project for a small sushi restaurant with only six counter seats, located in Barcelona, Spain.
The project is a fusion of the architectural and culinary cultures of Catalonia and Japan.
Together with Japanese bricklayers, we aimed to create a new interpretation of a Japanese space, constructionspace, using traditional Catalan materials - light bricks and traditional construction methods.
The space is surrounded by delicate, light curves that create a beautiful sequence of movements as the top Japanese sushi chefs Mr.Sato prepare the best sushi using local ingredients from the Mediterranean.
