The apartment is in a functionalist building from the interwar period in the neighbourhood of Mežaparks. In respect of the cultural and historical context of the area, the rounded corners, colour palette, patterns and two-tone walls are modern interpretations of the style. At the same time, the design embraces today’s best practices and considers the needs and vision of the clients. Open AD provided the full project cycle from design concept through to result.

The clients, a family of five, required three bedrooms, a living area, a kitchen and two bathrooms. Given the family's active lifestyle, the apartment had to provide ample storage space, as not all their gear could be stored in the basement storage room.

The furniture is a combination of bespoke designs by Open AD and designer pieces influenced by Danish design classics. The bathtub is a sentimental heirloom from the clients’ former home, and Open AD integrated it in the new apartment.
