Na Chleb (eng. For Bread) is a small, neighborhood delicatessen located in a historic tenement house in Poznan. In the deli you can buy products from regional suppliers for the title bread and wine. The place, which was opened during the pandemic, has gained considerable popularity among the local community after several months of operation.

 Function.

Premises with an area of only 30 sq m. it houses the functions of display, sale of products, a tasting area, a separate kitchen, and a toilet. The original, steel display case and a deep window sill served as a place where you can sit with a view of the neo-Gothic church.

The atmosphere of the place, materials.

The materials found in the place were authentic and marked with time. Solid boards on the floor, rough plaster and an old front window. The interior design is a continuation of this raw atmosphere, hence the existing elements remain original and the designed ones are characterized by sincere aesthetics. The newly created, untreated partition wall exposes its structure to the ceiling, illuminating the rear rooms with natural light. The black square tiles surrounding the walls are also not finished with joints, revealing the ceramics in the cross-section. These deliberate actions allowed for the reduction of execution works, lowered renovation costs and at the same time discovering the honest face of the materials. The subdued, warm background of the place contrasts with the black elements and is complemented by natural, solid oak and black oiled plywood. In a few places there are marble forms that were obtained from the waste of a stonemason. The patterned curtain in the display case adds a cozy atmosphere and refers to the neighboring windows and the atmosphere of the tenement house.

 Unique and handcrafted details.

The space and function of the premises are complemented by individually designed details and furnishings, which with their simple geometry and sincere aesthetics create a raw but cozy atmosphere. These elements include a steel counter that repeats the motif of square divisions filled with oiled plywood. Display racks located on the walls connect steel structures with solid oak shelves. Sliding doors filled with reinforced glass and perforated sheet metal illuminate the back room. With an oak structure in the window, you can try delicatessen specialties with a view of the area. The walls of the interior are decorated with details such as wall lamps made of folded stainless steel sheet or a characteristic irregular mirror in the center of the premises. The designed elements were made by hand with the involvement of local craftsmen, which is an inseparable part of wiercinski-studio projects.
