Custom work adds something unique to any interior, an authentic and distinctive detail. The Mosaic Factory is aware of this and therefore offers custom work too. Think of bespoke mosaic designs, with a pattern or text incorporated into it. They did both for restaurant Ruby Rose in Utrecht, The Netherlands. A custom mosaic floor with a pattern and the logo of Ruby Rose!

This design was made with mosaics from the TMF® London collection. These unglazed, full body porcelain mosaics are very suitable for high traffic floors and have a nonslip rating of R11/C. The London collection also offers all common tile shapes: round, square, hexagon, and rectangle. For this project the small hexagon in black (LOH2017) and white (LOH2010) were used, which both have a size of 23x26x5 millimetres. The logo was cut out of a ceramic floor tile using a waterjet.

If it’s a repeating pattern, a clear picture will suffice as well. The Mosaic Factory then checks if the pattern matches their collection, so if they have the right colours and shapes to create it. If that’s the case, you will be informed about pricing and delivery times. Both depend on volume, complexity of the pattern and the collections to be used.

Once the order is officially confirmed, The Mosaic Factory starts creating the design. If it’s almost finished, you will receive a heads up and the exact delivery date will be discussed.
