Living in the Rose Garden | Weber + Hummel Architekten

In Illertissen (Germany), Weber + Hummel Architekten (Stuttgart) have created a senior citizens' residential complex with a very special concept on behalf of the illerSENIO Caritasverein Illertissen Betriebs GmbH. Self-determined living in old age is being redefined in five buildings with a total of 59 apartments.

The urban planning maxim was to develop an ensemble of manageable units, which in their scale fit harmoniously and naturally into the surrounding context. The structures themselves are structured by projections, height offsets and different materials in order to ensure integration into the landscape. It was particularly important to the client and architects that, almost without exception, every apartment is oriented in two directions and has a privately usable outdoor area in the form of (roof) terraces or weather-protected loggias.

In addition to modern apartment layouts and upscale furnishings, a comprehensive range of everyday assistance, from household help to home care, ensures comfort and security in all situations. A restaurant, day care, many attractive additional offers and, last but not least, a spacious green area make "Living in the Rose Garden" a true oasis of well-being for all those who want to remain independent in old age and still want to be protected in the event of an emergency.
