The future Mariehøj cultural centre draws a clear profile in the landscape. With the new foyer, the cultural centre will get an appearance which invites the people of Rudersdal’s municipality to come and visit and a heart that brings together and makes visible the many users and activities in the house. The cultural centre merges together with the green landscape: it bridges the gap between the arrival area, the cultural plaza and the beautiful backyard of Mariehøj. It opens up towards the surroundings and incorporates the green qualities to the activities in the house. The house is both a cultural activity centre and a well-functioning workplace. Through reorganizing and rebuilding, better spaces for individual activities and more appropriate positions of the various functions are achieved. At the same time more intersections and meeting points are created. It brings together the multiple activities of the house and creates a space where new meetings and activities across interest and age may arise.
