The Art & Design Hotel Miura has a new restaurant created by Lucie Koldova together with an architect Martin Vomastek of studio Labor13 who is the original creator of Miura hotel building. Hotel Miura lies on a flat plain surrounded by the gently sloping peaks of the Beskid Mountains, of which there is an exceptional view from the revamped restaurant. The hotel brought an original morphology and form to the site that intentionally disrupts the local scale and is the dominating feature of the area. From the very beginning, the building has been compared to a spaceship swooping in from another world. Paradoxically, the structure has proven to be a natural fit for the landscape, its dynamic mass tying in with the panorama of the adjacent foothills and undeniably enriching the locality through its expressions of contrast.

Lucie Koldova was approached to help develop the ambience of the space and to recreate and change the overall layout. In the end, her contributions to the overall concept of the project and the facilities implemented for it are remarkable. Although no structural or capacity changes were carried out whatsoever and the spatial flow remains the same, the restaurant was given an entirely new look and, namely, atmosphere. The core idea of the renovation was to disrupt the neutral layout, which in now divided into several different zones. The middle of the space is accented from above with a nebula of tube lights, below which a sturdy solid wood table offers guests an amazing vantage point to take in the natural beauty from both sides. The surrounding pendent lighting above each of the smaller tables comprises delicate globes of handblown smoke glass. Watch the following video to see just how stunning this transformation really is.

The restaurant serves as a stage for several lighting scenes from the portfolio of BROKIS and designed by Lucie Koldova. Beginning with a brighter mode for the morning hours, the intensity of the lighting is gradually subdued as dusk approaches until a darker lounge mood is achieved. The largest mass of lights hangs in the form of a large central nebula assembled from the Puro Single collection, which features vertical light tubes reminiscent of cigars. Their diffused light in combination with single bell lights creates a magic that elevates the dynamics of the space to new heights. The alternating matte and gloss finishes produce a sense of provocation and provide a backdrop for an intimate scenography encompassing the other elements of the interior.

The surrounding smaller tables feature lights from a new collection that accentuate the nebula of Puro Single without encroaching on its dominance as the centrepiece of the space and augment it with a gentle luminance. Bespoke for Hotel Miura, the Puro Floor collection lends its minimalist, elegant form and variability to the restaurant as an intriguing lighting instrument. Chosen for the outdoor spaces of the restaurant is the new battery-powered lamp called Sfera Portable, whose glass sphere and multiangle fixture serve as a natural extension of the interior lighting.
