"Little Gem in Milan" is the story of a remarkable renovation of a 1930s apartment that masterfully merges classical Milanese architectural elements with modern design.
"The primary goal of the project was to reconfigure the apartment’s intricate layout to enhance spatial flow and establish a seamless connection between the living room and the entrance, thereby allowing natural light to permeate the space”, said the architect Ilaria D’Alessandro, who was in charged of the renovation.

To achieve this, all interior walls were demolished, creating a central axis that opens up the apartment and provides a clear, unobstructed view from the main hallway to the living room windows. The introduction of symmetrical arches draws inspiration from Milanese courtyards, paying homage to traditional architectural motifs while infusing the space with a modern touch.

The bedroom, designed as an intimate retreat, features a bold color scheme that reflects the client's strong personality. The overall decorative elements pay tribute to the grand houses of southern Italy, honoring the client's heritage and adding a personal touch to the design.
