NOUGAT: a summer night

Viruta Lab designs Nougat, a sweet boutique that takes the user back to a summer night at their grandparents' house

The smell of freshly baked bread, pancakes with sugar and yoghurt and lemon cake coming out of the oven. Unmistakable smells that take you back to one of many summer evenings. The last glints of sunlight on the washed-out green terrace, on the wicker rocking chair with its houndstooth cushion. A space that evokes the disconnection in the grandparents' village.

Nougat brings back these memories with its traditional sweet pastries. A place that is initially cold due to the bareness of its floors and concrete structures. Through the intervention on its cupboards and the new pine wood coverings, it eliminates the stainless steel and neutralizes the palette of greys. Thus, it becomes a warm space on a more domestic scale. A cozy interior design with traditional reminiscences.

The introduction of the wicker grid in the ceiling at different levels creates a homely atmosphere. A warm veil acts as a counterpoint to similarly materialized details such as the access door to the toilets or the bar service. Furthermore, these veils help to dissipate artificial light sources while creating a balanced lighting effect.

NOUGAT: una noche de verano

Viruta Lab diseña Nougat, una boutique del dulce que traslada al usuario a una noche de verano en casa de sus abuelos.

El olor del pan recién hecho, los crepes con azúcar y la torta de yogur y limón saliendo del horno. Olores inconfundibles que transportan a una de tantas tardes de verano. Los últimos rallos del sol sobre el porche color verde deslavado, sobre la mecedora de mimbre con el cojín de pata de gallo. Un espacio que evoca la desconexión en el pueblo de los abuelos.

Nougat devuelve estos recuerdos gracias a su tradicional pastelería dulce. Un local inicialmente frío por la desnudez de sus suelos y estructuras en hormigón. A través de la intervención sobre sus armariadas y los nuevos revestimientos en madera de pino, elimina los aceros inoxidables y neutraliza la paleta de grises. De esta forma, se convierte en un espacio cálido de escala más doméstica. Un diseño de interiores acogedor y con reminiscencias tradicionales.

La introducción de la rejilla de mimbre en el techo a diferentes niveles crea un efecto hogareño. Un velo cálido hace de contrapunto con detalles materializados de igual forma como, por ejemplo, la puerta de acceso a los servicios o el servicio de barra. Además, estos velos ayudan a disipar las fuentes lumínicas artificiales mientras crean un efecto homogéneo en la iluminación.
