Beauty center - Il Talismano della Bellezza (Talis_B)

47 square meters dedicated to beauty care.
This is the primary design challenge: an artisan workshop for the person that despite gaining identity in a minimal space, characterized by a single view, it manages to be functional, textured, luminous, accessible and sensorial.
A path that starts from the outside, where the fully glazed entrance door of the shop frames the opening and the logo in one unique proportional shape of a brown colour which also aims to improve the cold and gray façade of the existing building.
The entrance area is designed to perform more functions: reception, waiting, make up and nail bar. Through a linear corridor, you can access the solarium, pedicure, hair removal and massage booths and the clients’ bathroom. The layout also includes two closets that are integrated between the booths and the surfaces: the first one is an integral part of the reception, the second one, in the corridor, defines the location of the water pump and housekeeping items.
The study of the materials and the design of the furniture (all custom made) in solid wood, returns an overall image that seems to expand the surface of the room. This is also achieved by the wallpaper with an exotic-floral motif that is placed on the wall behind the counter and on the entrance to the bathroom. These walls, combined with the installation of flush-to-wall doors, tend to dissolve the physical contours of the architectural space and identify a sequence of spaces.
The wall of the nail & make-up bar is defined by the wooden lines (shelves) and the movable boxes that generate a dynamic composition and an interesting alternative for the location of products for the care of hands and nails.
The mirror equipped with dimmable light bulbs becomes an integral part of the wall and defines, with the director's chair, an unusual and curious make-up station.
The nail bar table placed by the window aims to project outside the daily work of the esthetician. In front of the latter is positioned the waiting sofa for customers, also designed and custom made.
Access to the three aesthetic booths is identified through sliding barn doors.
The use of solid wood is transformed into shelves, strips, boxes that identify the wood paneling and highlight the metric dimensions of the rooms, defining an order for the daily work.
The lavatory area is emphasized by Casalgrande Padana's large format steel corten tile, which is surmounted by tailor-made flush-to-wall mirrors.
The massage room is also equipped with a sensory shower with chromotherapy. The two elements, although concerning distinct functions, complete and interact with each other: the shower completes the room and the room completes the shower.
The dropped ceiling identifies the plant housings for the air conditioning system and the controlled mechanical ventilation, but it also defines a logical design of lighting fixtures intended to provide a state of greater brightness, more scenography and soft light.
The water-resistant laminate flooring is characterized by a warm colour tone that creates contrast with the brown and sand wallpaper.
