Classical Gardens | Human w/ Design

Classical Gardens is a minimal apartment located in Tai Po, Hong Kong. The project is a full renovation of an approx. 50 sq.m apartment, was designed to suit the client’s minimal living style. To maximize the space usage and create a more airy feel for the apartment with limited living space, the original wall separating the kitchen and dining room was demolished to create a rearranged open kitchen space with a stone-covered peninsula, which also allows the sunlight to penetrate into the kitchen area. A working area with a coherent wooden-framed design was created at the other side of the kitchen, including an extensive desk length and a floor-to-ceiling storage/display section as a showcase for the client’s collection. Natural materials including oak veneer, granite stone, and lime plaster were used throughout the space to respond to the natural greenscape outside.
