The concept was to create a flexible space with an industrial feeling.
The canvas was an office space from the 1980’s, with a poor infrastructure and some construction pathologies that needed to be solved. The new coworking space had to be ready to grow with the demand, and therefore a two phase construction plan was also a requirement.
The surrounding buildings in this once industrial part of the city were the main aesthetic influence on the design approach. The “waffle” ceiling slab, the facade curtainwall, and the industrial iron structures of the old refinery gave the rhythm and the metrics for this project. Going low tech was also a design option, with materials such as black painted iron curtainwall, flattered cement floor and exposed technical installations. The result was a clear, evolutive, collaborative, minimal designed coworking space.
