Flex / Living. Micro(multi)space... flexible space... transcendence of the geometric space..

Clear mentions of the materiality of an industrial space, mystic handling of natural light and layouts of automation, that can be activated if you simply ask @Alexa.

The fact that the flat is just 36 square meters made it an even greater challenge. How a geometrically confined space could create an environment beyond its materiality itself and how certain elements of the design would become focal by articulating both natural and artificial light.

The interior space extents outside by using the same colour-scheme on the floors and by designing two pieces of furniture that manage to contain all possible uses of the space yet allow for flexibility. That way, there are no spaces void of use and at the same time an area of creativity and an area of hospitality are created. The natural light flows into the space and it redefines it by altering its intensity as well as its colour. It reaches the bathroom through delicate crevice, it interacts with the vaporing water and bounces off reflective surfaces to create a motion effect as the day progresses.

The working area is enhanced with focal points other than the architectural. A pomegranate tree was chosen due to the fact that it is a deciduous tree and therefore it reflects the change of nature from season to season. The constant change of the way that the space is experienced as time passes was a central aim and desire.

Unfinished walls, rustic woods, stained floors, old bricks and the desk made of stratified steel create a warm atmosphere with clear references to industrial design.
