The lot is small, with an area of 528.00 m2. The program basically consists of an atrium, living room, kitchen, guest WC, suite and garage for two cars on the first floor, and three suites on the second floor. The lot is located in an urban subdivision, with a built environment of very low architectural quality.

It was extremely difficult to introduce the program with the areas requested by the client in the field, either due to its small size or due to the fact that it is located in the aforementioned subdivision. It was therefore necessary to explore the minimum distances between the two storey facades in order to comply, on the one hand, with the distance to the lot limits established in the subdivision and, on the other hand, the regulatory distances to the facades of neighbouring buildings, particularly with regard to the possibility of opening exterior spans. The shape of the two floors of the house is thus the result of the application of these rules. The same happened with the garden, with the exception of the front area of the room, which was intended to be more open. The fact that it is not possible to open windows in different areas of the facades has led, among other things, to the use of various lanterns that give the house its name.

From a structural point of view, the use of columns and slabs in solid concrete was generally foreseen. On the other hand, the exterior walls are in thermal brick. The roofs are flat, inverted type, with zinc flashings. The facades are covered with ETICS, an external thermal insulation system compound, painted in white, ensuring thermal comfort. The minimalist grey frames are thermally disrupted. To reduce the carbon footprint, the use of overhead lanterns was also planned in all interior compartments, thus reducing electricity consumption. The sanitary facilities are equipped with a natural and permanent transversal ventilation system. The house was also equipped with home automation, underfloor heating, air conditioning, a condensing boiler and solar panels, which complement the reduction of the carbon footprint.

All bathroom and kitchen facilities are covered with white marble, which extends to the living room and lobby floor. The floors in the rooms are in Walnut wood and the carpentry is lacquered in light gray. On the outside, micro-cube granite floors were planned, complemented with identical granite slabs in the garden areas. The floors at the entrance to the lot and at the front of the living room are in thermo-modified pine wood deck.
