Duomo Luxury Apartments by Rosa Grand Hotel

Exclusive apartments and impressive Penthouses overlooking the spiers of the Milan Cathedral are ready to welcome international Guests, who want to experience Milan in the relaxing privacy of a luxury apartment, without giving up the services and comfort of a high-profile hotel.

The Duomo Luxury Apartments by Rosa Grand Milano opened in early September 2021 on the occasion of the special edition of Salone del Mobile, which crowded the city with buyers, professionals and design people.

The project of these 'serviced apartments' is signed by Andrea Auletta, the Milanese Interior Designer who boasts a long and fruitful professional path of collaboration with Starhotels - leading Italian hotel group chaired by Elisabetta Fabri - of which Rosa Grand Milano is part.

The location is in the heart of the city, between Duomo and San Babila, a few steps from the pedestrian shopping path, with showrooms, restaurants and cafes and overlooks one of the noblest squares in Milan, full of history and symbols, near Palazzo dell'Arcivescovado and the two beautiful churches of Santo Stefano and San Bernardino. Corners and secret moments of Milan that it is nice to unveil inside the dynamic flow that crosses the city.

40 large-size rooms with kitchens and living rooms and 4 Penthouses - 3 of which on the fifth floor and the dazzling Penthouse Duplex Duomo View of 150 sqm. on the sixth floor - are real 'dreamhouses', intimate and elegant. They are connected to the Rosa Grand Hotel with its 300 rooms and offer Guests a unique experience and a new way of living their stay in Milan, choosing the formula of 'serviced residence' that is becoming increasingly popular on the Italian hospitality market.

This format allows to freely modulate the length of stay and the type of apartments chosen, being able to take advantage of services available at the hotel, including restaurants, bars, wellness area, room service, housekeeping, laundry and meeting rooms. Other services are tailored on request such as the possibility of having a chef for dinners and private events.

The apartments have an elegant dedicated Golden Lounge that guarantees direct and exclusive access for Guests and offers personalized services, including the possibility to check-in and check-out in complete relax and privacy and to directly access the elevator.

The characterizing elements of the residences - as Andrea Auletta points out - are the large and spacious layout and the sense of brightness that the rooms convey, also thanks to panoramic terraces overlooking the spiers of the Duomo offering a breathtaking view. Divided by color scheme, the rooms on the first and second floors have a dominant tone ranging from ivory to lobster and rust, while warm shades of gray have been chosen for the rooms from the third to sixth floors.

The careful choice of materials opted for oak parquet floors and laminate furniture (Cleaf) of great quality and long life.

The prevailing choice for textiles was that of velvet, with curtains and upholstered chairs and sofas that dress the rooms with soft chromatic and tactile shades.

All pieces of furniture were designed ad hoc and made by Divania Horo, aparto from some upholstered furniture and seats, such as the Meridiani armchairs and the chairs around the Montbel dining table.

The lamps are by Penta, Marioni and MLE.

Among the decorative elements that give the rooms a touch of original elegance, particularly impressive are the photographs by Maurizio Galimberti and the golden stones, original ceramic sculptures by Francesco Panavelli.

Bathrooms are in travertine stoneware with Kaldewei tubs, bathroom fixtures and washbasins are by Ceramica Cielo, taps are by Hansgrohe. In some apartments, travertine stoneware was also used for the kitchen tops. The round mirrors with sinuous shapes and direct lighting are a proper element of MLE production. The outdoor furnishings of the terraces are by Ethimo.

Speaking of the design philosophy that inspired the creation of the Duomo Luxury Apartments, Andrea Auletta is keen to emphasize that alongside the expanded and comfortable 'space' element that primarily connotes this project, there is a clear desire to ‘create uniqueness’, resulting in the presence of the bathtub in the bedroom and in an unprecedented subdivision of bathrooms, in the presence of a bar counter, in the large terraces rather than in the kitchen back-splash made with an amber mirror of great effect. 

Behind this formula, which offers the comfort of a home and the services of a large hotel, the concept expands and is enriched with the added value created by a welcoming and warm environment with a clear contemporary imprint, where the softness of velvet combines with the warmth of gold, all in all giving rise to an embracing effect of elegance.

Il progetto di questi ‘serviced apartments’ è firmato Andrea Auletta, l’Interior Designer milanese che ha al suo attivo un lungo e proficuo percorso professionale di collaborazione con Starhotels, primo gruppo alberghiero italiano presieduto da Elisabetta Fabri di cui il Rosa Grand Milano fa parte.

La location si trova nel cuore della città, fra il Duomo e San Babila, a pochi passi dal percorso pedonale dello shopping, con gli showroom, i ristoranti e i caffè e affaccia su una delle più nobili piazze di Milano, carica di storia e di simbologie, con il Palazzo dell’Arcivescovado e le due belle chiese di Santo Stefano e di San Bernardino, angoli e momenti segreti di Milano che è bello riscoprire dentro il flusso dinamico che attraversa la città.

Le 40 camere di dimensioni generose dotate di cucina e living e le 4 Penthouse – di cui 3 al quinto piano e una al sesto piano, la Penthouse Duplex Duomo View al sesto piano di 150 metri quadri – sono vere e proprie ‘dreamhouse’, intime ed eleganti, sono collegate al Rosa Grand Hotel con le sue 330 camere e offrono agli ospiti una esperienza unica e un modo nuovo di vivere il soggiorno a Milano, scegliendo quella la formula di ‘residenza servita’ che sta prendendo sempre più importanza nel mercato dell’hospitality e che consente di modulare liberamente la durata del soggiorno e la tipologia degli appartamenti scelti, potendo usufruire dei servizi dell’hotel, tra cui ristoranti, bar, zona wellness, servizio in camera, housekeeping, lavanderia e meeting rooms. Altri servizi sono personalizzabili su richiesta come la possibilità di avere uno chef per cene ed eventi privati.

Gli appartamenti hanno una elegante Golden Lounge dedicata che garantisce un accesso diretto ed esclusivo per i propri ospiti e offre servizi personalizzati, tra cui la possibilità di effettuare il check-in e il check-out in tutta tranquillità e riservatezza e di accedere direttamente all’ascensore.

L’elemento caratterizzante delle residenze – come sottolinea Andrea Auletta - sono le superfici ampie e spaziose di varie tipologie e il senso di luminosità che gli ambienti trasmettono, anche grazie alla presenza di terrazze panoramiche con vista sulle guglie del Duomo. Organizzate per schema-colore, le camere del primo e del secondo piano hanno una dominante di toni che va dall’avorio all’aragosta e al ruggine mentre per le camere che vanno dal terzo al sesto piano si è optato per i toni caldi del grigio.

Accurata e attenta la scelta dei materiali da parte di Andrea Auletta che vede pavimenti in parquet di rovere e arredi in laminato (Cleaf) di grande qualità e di lunga durata.

Per il tessile, la scelta prevalente è stata quella del velluto, con tende e rivestimenti di sedie e divani che vestono gli ambienti con morbide sfumature cromatiche e tattili, e l’utilizzo della pelle per alcune sedute.

Tutti i mobili sono stati disegnati ad hoc e realizzati da Divania Horo, con l’eccezione di alcuni imbottiti e sedute, come le poltrone di Meridiani e le sedie intorno al tavolo pranzo di Montbel. Le lampade sono di Penta, di Marioni e di MLE.

Tra gli elementi decorativi che danno agli ambienti un tocco di originale eleganza, particolarmente d’effetto sono le fotografie di Maurizio Galimberti e i sassi dorati, originali sculture in ceramica di Francesco Faravelli.

I bagni sono in gres travertino con vasche Kaldewei, i sanitari e i lavabi sono di Ceramica Cielo, la rubinetteria è di Hansgrohe. In alcuni appartamenti il gres travertino è stato usato anche per i top delle cucine.

Gli specchi tondi e con forme sinuose a illuminazione diretta sono un elemento caratterizzante di produzione MLE. Gli arredi outdoor delle terrazze sono di Ethimo.

Parlando della filosofia progettuale che ha ispirato la realizzazione degli spazi dei Duomo Luxury Apartments, Andrea Auletta tiene a sottolineare che accanto all’elemento ‘spazio’ dilatato e confortevole che connota primariamente questo progetto, c’è una precisa volontà di “creare unicità”, che può tradursi nella presenza della vasca da bagno in camera e in una suddivisione inedita dei bagni, nella presenza di un bancone bar, nelle grandi terrazze piuttosto che nel back-splash in cucina realizzato con uno specchio ambrato di grande effetto.

Il concept alla base di questa formula che offre il comfort di una casa e i servizi di un grande albergo, si amplia e si arricchisce con il valore aggiunto creato da un ambiente accogliente e caldo ma dall’impronta decisamente contemporanea, dove alla morbidezza del velluto si affianca il calore dell’oro e l’insieme regala un effetto di grande eleganza.
