Angilella Prestileo Partners Architect, APPA, was created by architects Turi Angilella and Giovanni Prestileo, who, having developed a curriculum of work for both public and private sector clients, decided to put their almost twenty years of experience and expertise to work in the field of cultural inheritance and of Architecture.
The company is based in Palermo, with the office for planning and exhibition located in a nineteenth century building in Palermo’s historical centre.

APPA Studio is full service architectural firm that specializes Design, construction supervision and testing of public and private works in architecture, carefully bio architecture and building restoration. Interior design, research and development of innovative materials.
We also provide professional comprensive as-built surveys with data, drawing and CAD disks on all architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing aspects of the client’s facilities.

Sicily has always been a place of meetings, of people, of experiments and of languages, and this peculiarity has always marked its economic and artistic history.
The work of APPA is inspired by these beginnings: meeting and exchange between cultures. Amongst the periods of greatest cultural richness and dynamism in Sicily was what we refer to as the trilingual period, under Ruggero II, in the twelfth century. At that time Greeks, Arabs and Romans worked in royal workshops, producing some of the greatest masterpieces of Architecture. Today, the current climate, characterised by profound migration, presents similar characteristics that could allow Sicily to become again a place of meeting, of the passing of people, of the sedimentation of elements of different cultures. APPA, acknowledging the extent to which the Arab influence on Sicilian culture is still present and the debt Italian culture as a whole owes this matrix, puts itself forward as a place of exchange and meeting between different cultures, as a place of experimentation and of the application of history as an inspiration for contemporary Architecture project in the Mediterranean and in Sicily in particular.
