The Cherry Garden | KHR Architecture

The Cherry Garden is placed in Tårnby with houses from 1 to 3 floors. Designed by KHR, the Cherry Orchard is a new type of multi-storey residential building where the dwellings are intertwined with each other, so that the entrances and private gardens are situated alternatively along the same façade. This gives new social and visual dimensions to the building. It invites you to alternate between privacy and community according to your needs, your mood and stage of life. Residents can meet spontaneously in everyday life and form they can bond across generations.

The location of The Cherry Garden means easy access to Amager’s large natural areas Amager Fælled, Amager Strand and Ørestaden. There are several attractive schools in the area and easy access to both the metro, the Øresund motorway and the airport. You get both the qualities of the city and the nature within just a short bike ride. Between the low-rise blocks of flats in the vicinity and the site's other apartment blocks, a harmonious transition in the area is created by The Cherry Garden.

The materials are natural in harmony with the environment, the gables are in yellow brick with light wooden facades. Inside in the homes there is light polished concrete floors in the entrance hall and bathroom, and in the living area there is light wood floors. There are open gardens, communal green spaces, green roof terraces and pergolas at the entrance which provide a good balance between privacy and neighborliness.
