Inspired Kuwait’s Golden Era, this scheme aims to regenerate the sentimentalized idealistic forms of the modernist movement that existed throughout the Golden Era. Catalyzed by Kuwait’s evident hybrid of different spatial arrangements, this project seeks to explore the notion of recreating the modernist aesthetic through the lens of spatial rearrangements. This is achieved by altering the existing dynamic through contrasting the city’s sprawling spatial arrangement with the modernist grid that was imposed in the 1952 Kuwait City Masterplan.
