ENG - In the heart of the Financial District, a stone’s throw from the famous Wall Street Bull and the legendary wooden walkway of the Brooklyn Bridge, stands 130 William Street. A brand new skyscraper designed by Ghanaian architect David Adjaye and built by the Lightstone Group, this building stands out for a style destined to revolutionise New York’s eternal skyline.

Inspired by the facades of historic buildings in lower Manhattan, the skyscraper stands out from the hegemony of glass and concrete that characterises the city’s skyline. The 244 metres of the building are in fact clad in reinforced concrete, laid and worked by hand to reinstate the idea of a warm, familiar stone surface: together the building and the natural world merge in the landscape of the city that never sleeps.

This is not a cold and sterile building, but a sensual, ecological, and human one, that facilitates a sense of belonging to the history and language of this great city.

The characteristic style of this building, classic and incredibly contemporary, convinced us from the outset of our need to be part of this project: this synergy between history and innovation, and the idea of a design that generates belonging, has always distinguished the entire Salvatori process.

For this reason, the clients’ drive for naturalness found a perfect ally in our company: Salvatori worked closely with the architects during the design process, contributing with our in-depth knowledge of natural materials to refine and redefine the limits of interior design. Consequently we were are not suppliers, but active participants in the conception of this wonderful work.

The imprint of our company runs throughout the building, from the common areas to the individual residential units. In addition to the luxurious lobbies, the encounter with Salvatori design begins as soon as you enter the building, with the tailor-made creation of an elegant reception desk in the intriguing Nero Marquinia.

In the apartments, Salvatori has custom developed specific islands for the kitchen in Pietra del Cardoso and again in deep Nero Marquinia: a symbol of continuity with the entire building.

But the real example of the incomparable commitment we put into each of our projects can be found in the creation of the bathrooms. All the bathrooms were made with Grigio Versilia or Bianco Carrara, in an array of three different textures: Levigato, Raw, or Romboo. For the penthouse bathrooms Salvatori developed beautiful bespoke Versilia Grey bathtubs from a single block of marble, then set them on a majestic full-width marble pedestal with matching washbasins.

Each bathroom created for this innovative skyscraper was dry-laid in our Tuscany factory and approved by our specialised technicians before being shipped to New York. For us at Salvatori, the precision of our workmanship is paramount.

ITA - Nel cuore del Financial District, a due passi dal famoso Toro di Wall Street e dal leggendario camminamento in legno del Brooklyn Bridge, sorge il 130 William Street. Nuovissimo grattacielo progettato dall’architetto ghanese David Adjaye e costruito dal gruppo Lighstone, questo edificio si contraddistingue per uno stile destinato a rivoluzionare l’eterno skyline di New York.

Ispirato alle facciate degli storici edifici del lower Manhattan, il grattacielo si distingue fortemente dall’egemonia di vetro e cemento che caratterizza il panorama della City. I 244 metri dell’edificio sono infatti rivestiti di cemento armato, posato e lavorato a mano per restituire l’idea di una calda e familiare superficie in pietra: struttura e mondo naturale si fondono nel paesaggio della città che non dorme mai.

Non un edificio freddo e sterile, ma ecologico sensuale e umano, che faciliti un senso di appartenenza alla storia e al linguaggio di questa grande città.

Lo stile caratteristico di questo stabile, classico e incredibilmente contemporaneo, ci ha convinti fin da subito della necessità di fare parte di questo progetto: questa sinergia di storia e innovazione, e l’idea di un design che generi appartenenza, contraddistingue da sempre tutto il processo Salvatori.

Per questo motivo, la spinta alla naturalità dei committenti ha trovato nella nostra azienda un alleato perfetto: Salvatori ha lavorato a stretto contatto con gli architetti durante la progettazione, contribuendo con la sua profonda conoscenza dei materiali naturali a ridefinire e perfezionare i limiti dell’interior design. Non sono quindi fornitori, ma partecipatori attivi nell’ideazione di questa meravigliosa opera.

L’impronta della nostra azienda percorre tutto l’edificio, dalle aree comuni alle singole unità abitative. Oltre alle lussuose lobby, l’incontro con il design Salvatori inizia già appena entrati, grazie alla realizzazione su misura di un elegante banco per la reception nell’intrigante Nero Marquinia.

Negli appartamenti, Salvatori ha sviluppato su misura per la cucina specifiche isole realizzate in Pietra del Cardoso e ancora nel profondo Nero Marquinia: un simbolo di continuità con tutto l’edificio.

Ma il vero esempio dell’impegno incomparabile che mettiamo in ogni nostro progetto è rintracciabile nella creazione dei bagni. Tutti i bagni sono realizzati in Grigio Versilia oppure in Bianco Carrara, con una triplicità di texture: Levigato, Raw o Romboo. Per i bagni degli attici Salvatori ha sviluppato su misura, e da un unico blocco di marmo, delle meravigliose vasche da bagno in Grigio Versilia, incastonandole poi su un imponente piedistallo in marmo a tutta larghezza e lavabi coordinati.

Ogni bagno realizzato per questo innovativo grattacielo è stato posato a secco nel nostro stabilimento in Toscana e approvato dai nostri tecnici specializzati, prima di essere spedito a New York. Per noi di Salvatori, la precisione della nostra lavorazione è fondamentale.

Nella nostra azienda, le tecniche della lavorazione artigiana proseguono il loro percorso di pari passo con le più alte innovazioni nel campo della meccanica e del design: l’accuratezza, fino al minimo dettaglio, delle nostre lavorazioni ci contraddistingue da tutti i nostri competitor.
