Exactly in the year of the Bauhaus centenary celebrations, we were asked to do a comprehensive interior design of an unusual house in Konstancin-Jeziorna. This house is a typical Bauhaus style villa built in 1936. Several characteristic features in the architecture of the building suggest that its author could have been Lucjan Korngold, but no documentation that could confirm it has survived. On the ground floor of the house, there is a living room with a study area, a fireplace area, a kitchen with a small dining area and pantry, a large dining room with a sitting area and a small bathroom. On the first floor, there is a library, a guest room, a bedroom, a dressing room and a bathroom.

After a major renovation, the interior of the building remained unfinished. So it was necessary to design a staircase, a fireplace, interior woodwork, bathrooms, wardrobe, kitchen, parquet floors and mosaic floors. What turned out to be a big challenge was designing a piece of furniture that could hold a collection of about ten thousand books. The main aim in the interior design was to maintain the Bauhaus aesthetic with reference to modernism of the 1950s and 1960s.

We have gathered a collection of furniture, lamps and accessories from the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, France, Poland, USA, Italy, Denmark, Spain, that fit the style of the house.
Among them there are projects by: Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, Le Corbusier, Arne Jacobsen, Ico Parisi, Franz Hohn, Hans J. Wegner, Gianluigi Gorgoni, Pierre Mazairac & Karel Boonzaaijer, Louis Kalff, Gianfranco Frattini, Charles & Ray Eames, Maria Chomentowska, Arne Vodder, Jan Bočan, Patricia Urquiola. Graphics, ceramics and sculptures used to decorate the house are by artists such as: Yoko Ono, Jan Goliński, Stanisław Wysocki, Pola Kurcewicz-Krystyniak, Hanna Orthwein, Jadwiga Janus, Julian Henisz, Józef Czapski, Jan Lebenstein, Kazimierz Podsadecki and Wojciech Leder.

Furniture designed by Loft Kolasiński: tables, chests of drawers, libraries, glass-cases, shutters, benches, bed, bedside tables, kitchen and bathroom furniture, mirrors, shower. In the project we also used Brazilian Punk floor lamps designed by Loft Kolasiński in 2020, made by Zbigniew Dzitkowski-Stolarstwo.
