Assignment:

The interior is located in a beautiful functionalist corner house in Prague, Jičínská Street, very nearby metro station. The house may be a bit inconspicuous from the exterior, but it hides a beautiful generous staircase hall. The goal to achieve was to convert the newly leased space from the existing fitness studio into a new dental hygiene space as soon as possible. The project was finally crammed into 5 months from first sketch till opening.

The aim was to create a contextual space that would follow the functionalist tendencies in its interior - an interior should correspond to its location. We wanted to achieve minimalism, which will be enriched with a distinctive color - both in a psychological and physical sense. We wanted to achieve a surgery that will not sense cold, but which, on the contrary, will leave a person in a good mood and at the same time for patients or employees.

Conception:

The corner house is known for 3 typical arches from the exterior, which are described as bay windows along the entire height of the house. We took over this arch and made it a common theme of the new clinic. The arch, which appears on the facade and in the staircase hall, was transferred to the interior of the clinic in the form of a reception desk, the clinic's logo, a couch in the waiting room, business cards, and furniture handles etc.

The individual rooms were conceived as individual personalities with a common feature. Three colored vertical planes were created uniformly - the floor, the equipment (eye level) and the ceiling - symbolically depicting the earth and the sky, between which the personal plane takes place. These three planes are then pinned on a white background. At the same time, the bright interior was encouraged by white color together with an endless enfilade of round windows optically enlarges the cramped space.

Flooring

The first connecting element was a unique cast floor, on which a total of 5 colors were used. According to the exact specification, the colors were imported from the Netherlands, where they were mixed to a predefined color scale.

Ceiling

The second connecting element was a unique ceiling, on which 5 colors were also used. The ceiling was created by hand stamping directly by the architect, investor and clinic staff. In each room, the color was dominantly printed according to the central color of the room. The lying patient thus does not have to stare thoughtlessly into the light source above his head during the procedure, but can look at the ceiling, where each stamp is individually printed, imperfect, distinctive.

The short implementation deadline was also met thanks to the excellent coordination and improvisation of the construction, and thanks to the great helpfulness and professionalism of all participants in the implementation.
