Etihad Arena is the largest multi-purpose indoor arena set on the stunning waterfront of Yas Bay, offering world-class event space and hospitality.

Proudly positioned on Yas Island, the Middle East’s premiere leisure and entertainment destination, Etihad Arena is set to become the UAE’s leading entertainment landmark and enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as a global entertainment destination.

The realisation of the entire Etihad Arena building was inspired by the woven mesh of the baskets used by the Bedouin tribes, a modern structure that however wants to have a close link with the history of the country.

For the ItalMesh Team it was certainly the biggest challenge in recent years, having been chosen by the Customer to create an architectural work of such great importance was an honor and a challenge, which we were able to win, demonstrating our skills and our strengths.

The ItalMesh team of engineers conducted the study for over a year in order to find the ideal solution for the installation of over 28,000 expanded mesh panels, for a total of 16 thousand square meters.

In order to be able to create what the Customer had requested, that is to represent the ancient baskets used by the Bedouins, in addition to the engineering study there was also the study of the design, which involved the choice of the color of the expanded metal mesh, in fact for the realization of the powder coating, also carried out by our team, a Qualicoat 3 powder coat was used, highly resistant to the atmospheric agents of the Arabian Peninsula.

It took about two years to see Etihad Arena completed, and we are very satisfied with the way the job was carried out. We are eager to see this Arena live and to share with you all the details of this amazing masterpiece.
