Casa UC | Daniela Bucio Sistos

Located on the outskirts of the city of Morelia, Michoacán. Casa Uc is a residence designed by Daniela Bucio Sistos, the architectural design arises from the concern to create a project with certain spatial ambiguity between the interior and exterior and that could sometimes be imperceptible. The UC project is a residence in which all the interior spaces are in direct contact with the micro-environments generated inside the house.

Casa Uc was always thought as a walkable residence, that when walking through it, the change of textures and scales would make it a space away from the oculocentrism and more linked to a sensitive interaction with the user. Contemplative and silent spaces.

Daniela sought to create a residence almost monochromatic but full of textures that with the incidence of natural light on the different volumes, the project would have different personalities throughout the day. Slender volumes distributed on a plan to create voids and courtyards that rise above masonry walls in the form of a slope.

Casa Uc doesn't say much on the outside. The main entrance is tucked in at the end of the textured partition wall that runs along most of the front of the property. Upon entering and descending the access ramp, one finds the main foyer of the residence which is dressed with a tabachin in the center and a large circular elevated roof.

From the vestibule two large circular openings can be seen on the sides, one inside the library and the opposite one as the end of the patio that connects to the secondary bedrooms. The circular foyer is the guiding axis of the residence, and symbolically it is taken as the starting point for the radial floor that runs throughout the project. The program consists of 4 bedrooms, library, kitchen, dining room, terrace, living room and orchard.

The residence opens up to a row of cypress trees at the back of the site through a large ramp that connects the living room with the garden. To the sides and front, it is closed to preserve privacy and maintain silence.

Ubicada a las afueras de la ciudad de Morelia, Michoacán. Casa Uc es una vivienda diseñada por Daniela Bucio Sistos, el diseño arquitectónico surge a partir de la inquietud por crear un proyecto con cierta ambigüedad espacial entre el interior y exterior y que pudiera a veces ser imperceptible. El proyecto UC es una casa en la que todos los espacios interiores tienen un contacto directo con los microentornos que se generan al interior de la vivienda.

Casa Uc siempre se pensó como una casa caminable, que al recorrerla el cambio de texturas y escalas hicieran de éste un espacio alejado del oculocentrismo y más ligado a una interacción sensorial con el usuario. Espacios contemplativos y de silencio.

Daniela buscó crear una casa casi monocromática pero llena de texturas que con la incidencia de la luz natural en los diferentes volúmenes, el proyecto tuviera diferentes personalidades a lo largo del día. Volúmenes esbeltos distribuidos sobre un plano para crear vacíos y patios que se elevan sobre muros de mampostería en forma de talud.

Casa Uc no dice mucho al exterior. El acceso principal se encuentra remetido al final del muro texturizado de tabique que recorre casi todo el frente del predio. Al entrar y bajar por la rampa de acceso, se encuentra el vestíbulo principal de la casa el cual se viste con un tabachín al centro y una gran cubierta elevada en forma circular. Del vestíbulo se pueden observar a los lados dos grandes vanos circulares, uno al interior de la biblioteca y el opuesto como remate del patio que comunica a las recámaras secundarias. El vestíbulo circular es el eje rector de la casa, y simbólicamente se toma como punto de partida para el acomodo del piso radial que recorre todo el proyecto. El programa se compone de 4 recámaras, biblioteca, cocina, comedor, terraza, sala y huerto.

La casa se abre solo hacia una hilera de cipreses que se encuentran al fondo del sitio por medio de una gran rampa que conecta a la sala con el jardín. A los lados y al frente, ésta se cierra para conservar privacidad y mantener el silencio.
