Spaces in which people, work, live, activate, all tell a story. Designers are called to narrate, visualize and express this story when create spaces for people and their needs while designing and implementing solutions for each need.

The above qualities can be found in our personal working space, which must incorporate and feature the principles and philosophy of its designer, when talking about a designer’s workspace, in this case EC Interiors – interior architecture. Functionality, practicality, comfort combine with aesthetics, creating a work environment with its own unique identity.

The workspace is shaped with a more casual home vibe in mind, contrasting other typical cold formal spaces. A warm color pallet is chosen, complementing materials like marble, wood, mosaic and reused old furniture, aim to create familiarity to visitors.

Function, limited space, need for optimal working conditions and inside movement, all affected the design process, where simple, practical and stylish solutions were provided.

The workspace is combined, a small kitchen and a welcoming area, creating an open-plan and bright multifunctional space. Selection of materials like marble floor, wooden furniture, and mosaic surfaces, in remembrance of old Athenian houses, provides durability over time, highlighting space’s common identity and unique style.

Kitchen becomes a food and coffee corner, adding to familiarity of the space for the visitor. Light wood with a vertical pattern is chosen, which highlights the mosaic counter and the window, attributing to the open feeling of the space.

An old wooden table is restored and filled with mosaic, founding a new life a design desk. The table is complemented with long build in to the wall selves, which provide lighting and keep the office neat and tidy.

For the small bathroom, white colored ceramic tiles, walls and equipment are used. Bright yellow small everyday items are use in contrast with the white, giving a cheerful note. Same yellow tones are used to the outdoor living room at the balcony, where reused outdoor furniture is restored, in a similar pattern as the indoor one. The outdoor living room is complementing the workspace, becoming a vivid expansion of it.

Lighting, natural and artificial, as a dynamic part of the design, complements the spatial experience, supporting spatial functionality.
