House Sa Vigia | Jorge Vidal
Minorca / United States / 2019
This proposal is centered around the three existing volumes: the main volume, the guest pavilion and the barbecue pavilion. The aim was to achieve a compositional unity between the three in a clear and concise manner.
This is why a complete integration in the Menorcan landscape and its architectural tradition is intended, from the chromatic point of view with the colour white to the indigenous materials used, such as sea stones, glazed ceramics or terracotta ceramics.
The proposal also aims to find a better relationship between the exterior and interior spaces through the means of adapted window openings, patios that enclose the exterior spaces linked to the bedrooms by the means of lattice walls painted white, etc. The chromatic unification is sought at all times, it is an exploration that focuses on creating relaxed environments with Mediterranean atmospheres. Atmospheres that are peculiar to the island of Menorca.
