BO9 is the renovation project of an apartment that occupies the entire first floor of a two-storey house in the center of Legnano: we changed completely the original layout, demolishing some portions of the spine wall that generated a long corridor of distribution and giving the recovered space to the main rooms, in order to increase their depth and make them accessible from several directions. This is how these “passers-by” spaces were born: here the furnishings (also designed by nonestudio) become “islands” around which the paths are circular and fluid. These “islands” (as results of a research we have been carrying out for years), are the absolute protagonists of each of the main environments, defining virtual volumes that emphasize the main use of each space: the Dinette-IsolaPranzo, IsolaLiving e Nottambula-IsolaNotte (Dinette-DiningIsland, LivingIsland and Nottambula-NightIsland). Light custom-made fixed furnishings are then placed on the walls as a backdrop to the islands: the kitchen with its wooden vinery; a bookcase with plexi display cases, the Focus fireplace with an iron bench for Agrippino -the sofa- and Dolcenera (designed by us and exhibited at Fuorisalone19); the bathtub-wellness system that forms the background of Nottambula and that hides a small colorful bathroom, accessible through a satin door. The only two breaks between the main rooms are the hallway entrance with the furnished window and the guest bathroom, which are also pass-through and accessible from several points. Everything is custom designed by us and enriched by the use of different materials and colors, a common feature in all of our projects.

BO9 è il progetto di ristrutturazione di un appartamento che occupa l’intero primo piano di una una casa di due soli livelli nel centro di Legnano: abbiamo completamente modificato il layout distributivo originario, demolendo alcune porzioni del muro di spina che generavano un lungo corridoio di distribuzione e cedendo lo spazio recuperato agli ambienti principali, per aumentarne la profondità e renderli accessibili da più parti. Sono nati così spazi “passanti”, attraversabili, dove gli arredi (sempre da noi disegnati) sono come delle “isole” attorno alle quali i percorsi risultano circolari e fluidi. Le isole-arredo (frutto di una ricerca che portiamo avanti da qualche anno), protagoniste assolute di ciascuno degli ambienti principali, definiscono volumi virtuali che enfatizzano l’uso principale di ciascuno spazio: sono Dinette -Isola Pranzo, IsolaLiving e Nottambula-IsolaNotte. Leggeri arredi fissi su misura si posano poi sulle pareti facendo da sfondo alle isole: la cucina con il suo controsoffitto - vinery in legno per il pranzo; una libreria con teche in plexi, il camino della Focus con la panca di ferro per i divani Agrippino e Dolcenera (da noi disegnati e esposti al Fuorisalone19); il sistema vasca-wellness che fa da sfondo a Nottambula e che nasconde un piccolo bagno colorato, accessibile tramite una porta satinata. Due sole pause tra gli ambienti principali sono l’ingresso disimpegno con la finestrata arredata e il bagno degli ospiti, anche essi passanti e accessibili da più punti. Tutto è disegnato da noi su misura e arricchito da l’uso di diversi materiali e colori, caratteristica comune in tutti i nostri progetti.
