The story of the Monobloc House begins with our clients’ love for the warmth and coziness of the mountain cottages.

The key element of the design is the natural wood and wood textures.

The idea of the wooden Monobloc in the main floor area came as a solution for a perception problem of the space. Positioned beneath the staircase, the space dedicated to the dining seemed initially as small and crammed. This apparent disadvantage was polarized into the main design element of the house, by creating this cocoon, this “house in house” that separates itself from the rest of the house and creates its own identity.

The cold color palette in the rest of the space is not accidental: it contrasts with the warmth of this Monobloc, like a cold icy environment with a cozy cottage.

The same cocoon theme and way of solving some volumetric disadvantages of the space were used in the bedroom area as well.
