Barn Renovation | Andrea Turato

A barn, with stable and hayloft, has been renovated as a holiday residence. The people who commissioned the work chose to maintain the status of barn, in order to preserve most of the original structure, the historical surfaces of the building and the landscape inprint. The ground floor has been transformed from a stable into a storage room on one side and a 'natural'-looking bathroom with wooden features on the other side. The main room on the first floor has been adapted for residential purposes, making excellent use of the original balcony to hang the hay, into a wide system of windows that now gives an impressive view over the Dolomites. The exterior has been restored and kept as much as possible as it was: only the building's 'wooden skin' is now openable.

Il tabié si trova a quota 1300, sui prati sopra Costalissoio, in una posizione molto panoramica. Sopra la stalla in muratura di sasso il fienile in legno con struttura a telaio, con angolari in muro verso monte, è circondato dal ballatoio (pnizo).
L’intervento si configura come un restauro conservativo che adatta l’edificio all’uso contemporaneo nel pieno rispetto della struttura storica. Un’accurata valutazione dello stato di conservazione del manufatto ha permesso di ridurre al minimo gli interventi distruttivi: sono state  sostituite solo le travi di banchina, marcescenti, rialzando, senza smontarla, la struttura superiore, con l’impiego di travi nuove squadrate a mano. Per non snaturare il carattere rustico del tabié, l’immantellato è stato smontato e rimontato su un telaio metallico, apribile sulla grande  vetrata che illumina il piano del fienile.
