Stack House is comprised of a series of three “row” houses. Built for an extended family, the middle house is designated for the parents and the youngest son, with the left and right houses reserved for the family’s two older sons. The basement, which acts as a shared space, houses the formal diwaniya, services, and staff living quarters.

The house’s design wraps the three adjacent houses within a series of layered horizontal ribbons, providing cohesion to what would otherwise appear to be standalone houses. The ribbon design thus ties the vertically layered programs together, giving the house a sleek horizontal appearance.
