Namoozen House | Oh Ki Hwan

ENG - The objective of the Namoozen House Kitchen project in Seoul was to create an ethereal look blending with natural materials. The architect Oh Ki Hwan designed a functional space where the pervasive use of white, for the floor and the kitchen block, invokes profound connotations of balance and purity, typical of the Korean decorative tradition. The minimal environment readily accommodates experiments with materials, such as the wood panelling of the wall system, or the top of the central island and the recess in Lapitec sintered stone.

The slabs used were Absolute White, in the 12mm thickness and the Dune finish, which creates a special play of light and shadow on the top through its irregular surface texture. The sink is also in Lapitec and is part of the Orion series (with two size choices and the option of customizing the edges and finishes), providing outstanding aesthetic and stylistic coherence.

Lapitec is ideal for kitchen applications given that it is fluid-repellent, anti-stain, hygienic and easy to clean. 100% natural, without chemical additives and, above all, without surface pores, it is a hostile environment for germs, making it perfect for food preparation. The material is also resistant to thermal changes, permitting the installation of cooling systems under the top, to chill bottles for example, or heating systems, to keep meals warm.

ITA - Un aspetto etereo, in armonia con materiali naturali: questo l’obiettivo del progetto della cucina di Namoozen House a Seoul. L’architetto Oh Ki Hwan ha disegnato uno spazio razionale dove il largo impiego del bianco, a pavimento e per il blocco cucina, assume connotazioni profonde legate all’equilibrio e alla purezza, tipiche della tradizione decorativa coreana. L’ambiente minimale accoglie con facilità sperimentazioni materiche, come la boiserie in legno del sistema a parete o il rivestimento dell’isola centrale e della nicchia, in pietra sinterizzata Lapitec.

Le lastre scelte sono in Bianco Assoluto, nello spessore 12mm e finitura Dune, che crea un caratteristico gioco di luci e ombre sul top grazie alla sua texture superficiale, irregolare. Anche il lavandino è in Lapitec e fa parte della serie Orion (con due varianti dimensionali e possibilità di personalizzazione di bordi e finiture), con il risultato di una grande coerenza estetica e stilistica.

Lapitec è ideale per l’applicazione in cucina, poiché fluidorepellente, anti-macchia, igienico e facile da pulire. 100% naturale, senza additivi chimici e soprattutto privo di pori sulla superficie, risulta inoltre ostile alla proliferazione di germi, e dunque perfetto per il contatto con il cibo. Il materiale, infine, è resistente agli sbalzi termici e consente l’installazione sottotop di sistemi di raffrescamento, per mantenere le bottiglie a temperatura, o riscaldamento, per mantenere al contrario a temperatura le pietanze.
