The city and architecture

Daily we go through the city, its spaces and its voids. We work, live, build and reconstruct its reality based on our perceptions, experiences and daily dynamics.

Cities or urban centers are characterized by density, and this density is directly supported by their architecture. Architecture as a discipline meets the needs of the city, is responsible for its form and establishes its operating structure.

In other words, in a city, its dynamics and patterns are conditioned by many parameters, a large part of which revolve around architecture and the relationships, flows and networks that arise from the voids and fills it creates.

The architecture of the City proposes that the city, rather than being a problem of organizing architectures, is a whole that builds itself and remains beyond its functions and structures.

The first thing we perceive of a city is its physical reality and urban activity through the relationships that occur between its inhabitants.

This first vision is mainly supported by the sensory and landscape perception that are capable of provoking both the voids or public spaces of a city and its crowds or architectures that make it up.

Each individual processes, configures and expresses a different image of the city according to their dialogue with reality, and the existing collective image.

Cities are the settings on which the lives of their inhabitants unfold, a magical reality where we develop individually and collectively as a society and enjoy the emotions and sensations produced by the actions that take place in their spaces.

Human beings transform their environment by defining their own horizon, building places and objects that make possible the various human activities that give meaning to life.

The city and its architecture are a fabric where history, memory and imagination are integrated. The urban layout and the buildings placed on it are an expression and a constructed reflection of innumerable traditions and social practices that, at the same time, produce identities and culture.

The shape of the city is that of a moment, that of a certain time in history, which materializes in its urban layout, its forms and its voids.
