The Corolla Acoustic is a space that seeks to integrate the optimal conditions for listening to live music and amplified recorded music in open spaces.
The Space is also intended for public enjoyment of "live concerts" or moments of prerecorded amplified listening with "listening in programming" and / or "listening in direct management" mode by the user.
Live concerts, linked to the optimal use of the project space, are designed for solo performances (piano, wind musical instruments, violins, cello, etc.) or concert formations - (the basic model is the chamber music quartet, related to the space of project in question).
Listening in amplified recording is divided into "listening in programming", without direct user management and "listening in direct management" by the user.
The first modality of "listening in programming" foresees that in the space of the Corolla Acoustic the sound emitters - high fidelity - follow a musical programming, decided by experts, (a Programming Manager) and the same has a temporary and thematic character.
The second mode of "listening in direct management" provides that the user can, via an app, or other interaction device with the Corolla acoustic control unit, choose one or more songs in a given music menu. The same menu could also be of a permanent or temporary nature and obviously concern different thematic areas and genres.
The architecture of the Giardino della Musica is a space for about 100/140 seats, able to host live concerts or recorded listening in a continuous solution, in the first or second case the sessions, the second project can logically involve chairs ( ideal for concert) or rest chairs - chaise long - (ideal for amplified recorded listening), see illustrations of the project tables. .
The acoustic Corolla is made from a continuous shell with a removable circular plan (about 15 / 18m diameter)
The continuously circular acoustic shell is able to "tune" the listening space by modifying the sound reverb tail; the "acoustic buds" from which the acoustic shell is formed are spheres made of fir plywood sheets from the Val di Fiemme, equipped with a mobile shell in mineralized polymer around the central horizontal axis of the sphere.
The shell can rotate 180 ° around its own axis, showing, towards the surface of the sphere subject to the first incident sound, a highly reflective surface (about 0.05) or a highly diffracting surface (0.40) respectively.
The different reflectance of the buds is able to modify the sound reverb tail of the space, with high intermediate possibilities of modulation of the reverb, and, according to this, it can be considered a tunable listening space.
These spaces are called dynamic acoustic spaces.
