LM Apartment | Moca Arquitetura

Located on the north coast of the state of Santa Catarina. South of Brazil, the apartment finds its context across the beach, at a height still very close to the shore. This strong connection with the natural landscape underpins the project's relationship with its surroundings, in order to sometimes seek contemplation and integration with the outside, reinforcing perspectives and creating permanency, and sometimes explore the welcome and privacy of its residents. This makes the project delves into a twilight moment of transition between light and shadow, sun and moon, the perceptible, and the mysterious.

    From this, material elements from the natural environment are brought to the inhabited space to create certain domestication of the landscape, seeking a state of tranquility, reinforced by the organic touch of the stones, wood, and fibers. The projected light, scenic, embraces the role of amplifying these textures, resembling the light of the setting sun over the balneary, seeking the seduction of the approach, the look, the touch, and the perception of what grants form to the place where one lives. Among the layers and illuminated forms, the penumbra sets the sense of belonging to this space.

    The separation between the sectors becomes flexible from the moving partitions, which pursue to create layers of privacy, but with different possibilities of interaction. The intimate spaces bring the calm and contemplation of a serene, alive, and calm sea. The passages become paths to be walked, transitional moments of coming and going, with their own values.

    The furniture, in moments, stimulates the conviviality and the togetherness, and in others is situated as objects of art, establishing themselves as an integral part of the life of the apartment. They are thought from a plurality of materials, colors, and textures, provoking various stimuli. Something as sophisticated and plural as life itself.
